Your first chiropractic appointment at Epoch

Your New Patient Experience forms the first part of your Epoch journey. It includes three appointments spread over three days:

The first appointment is your new patient Initial Consultation which takes up to 60 minutes. This is where your chiropractor will go through your:

The second part is your Orientation visit. This is your introduction to chiropractic, and these fun and informative 30-minute workshops are run weekly at the centre, offering you all the tools to achieve faster health from your care, as well as supporting yourself at home.

You are welcome to attend this before or following your initial visits. Book onto the next workshop here.

Our chiropractic patient reviews

Having suffered with back issues for a number of years and trying various treatments, which only really masked the real problem, I decided to give Epoch a try. (They were recommended by a friend and the fact that they take X-rays prior to starting treatment). I’ve always found the Epoch staff friendly and that they really want to help. Joyce has been treating me for a couple of months now and I can’t believe how much better I feel, better than I have in years. I finally achieved one of my objectives today, I played golf for the first time in seven months. So big thank you to Joyce and the rest of the team.

Since starting with Epoch in January, My journey has not just been a physical one, but the benefits you receive enable you to transfer this into a totally different mind set. I am more aware of my every day posture, increased my water intake and generally more aware of how I wish to take control of how I feel on a day to day basis. Thanks to all the team at Epoch for supporting me on this journey. 10k running no problem.

I booked an assessment at Epoch in March. The results showed that my body wasn't in great shape but the great news was that the damage could all be reversed. Since then I have embarked on a journey towards better health than I have had for years. I am losing weight, getting fitter and have more energy. Also, at my progress examination, I was told that I had made such progress that I only have to see Sophie once a week. This is amazing as its only 6 weeks since I began my treatment! Epoch's approach is to treat the whole body and not just the damaged/injured parts of the body. It really works! Why not come along and see what they can do for you?!

My journey at Epoch has been absolutely brilliant. It changed my life for better, I have significantly less pressure and pain in my back and neck, can sleep all night through without waking up constantly. My chiropractorJoyce is absolutely fantastic. She is a very professional and lovely person.I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with back and neck pain, she is great and knows her stuff. Also, big thank you to the whole Epoch team for the outstanding customer service. You all are absolutely fantastic!

Frequently Asked Questions

No, generally adjustments do not hurt. The aim of an adjustment is to create more ease within the body. However, some patients who see us are in a lot of pain, and therefore because they are in pain already, the positions required to give the adjustments can be a little uncomfortable.

Adjustments do not always make a noise, but sometimes there is a ‘cracking’ or popping sound associated with them. This is release of gas, like a bubble of air popping in the fluid sac of a joint, as it moves when being adjusted.

No, for routine adjustments you will not need to remove clothing apart from heavy jackets for example, and shoes, however it may be more comfortable to be in loose fitting clothes. For your New Patient Consultation, tighter, gym type clothing is ideal to help with the accuracy of the posture assessment, however we do have gowns should you need to remove any clothing if an x-ray is required.

Chiropractors hold an honourary Doctor of Chiropractic title. They gain this through a minimum of 4 years university education and as primary health care professionals.

Open plan adjusting is where the adjustments are delivered in a communal area. The purpose of this is to enhance community and focus on getting well, as opposed to focusing on the problem. You stay fully clothed for your adjustments and there are regular private ‘review’ appointments booked with the team to monitor and manage your progress.

Chiropractic is for everyone. From newborn babies and pregnant women, to men and women well into the 90’s and beyond. Chiropractic helps both abled and disabled people to regain their health, or maintain their health without the use of drugs or surgery.

This very much depends on how long the problem has been there for and how committed you are to getting better. At Epoch Lincoln we do understand that healing takes time, and our aim is to help you fully recover and go beyond just feeling better.

We understand that everyone lives busy lives these days, and trying to fit your chiropractic appointment in can be another tricky juggling act. Therefore, to avoid people having to compromise on care, our appointments only take a short time. These are however very specific and effective. We believe in doing absolutely what is necessary to get your body functioning better, no more and no less. We do however have a great community and social area, so if you do want to enjoy the practice and take your time in the centre, we welcome that too.

Yes, following the 1994 Chiropractors Act. To call yourself a chiropractor in the UK you need to be qualified and registered with the General Chiropractic Council. All chiropractors at Epoch Lincoln are registered.

Your insurance may contribute to your care, and this does vary from insurer to insurer. As Epoch is dedicated to delivering the best service to our patients, we do not deal directly with insurance companies. However, we are happy to provide all the necessary reports and receipts needed for you to make a claim.

Chiropractic is all about helping you function to your absolute best. Whether you are in pain or not, whether you are healthy or sick. Chiropractic is the art of removing any ‘blockages’ within your body to allow it to do what it does best. And that is to heal and thrive. Those who want to get the most out of their body and life, choose regular chiropractic care.

Chiropractic works by helping improve how your nervous system is working. As we know, the brain controls every single function of the body, and with that the human body has an innate ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Chiropractic works with the spine and skull to remove any pressure or interference upon the brain and nervous system. Therefore, allowing the body to reconnect and work to its best ability.

Chiropractic is for everybody, from newborn babies to those nearing their time on this planet. It is never too late to start your chiropractic journey and certainly it is never too early.

Chiropractic helps to get the sick people well and keep the well people at their best.
