As we welcome more daylight and warmth, Spring can bring a sense of new beginnings, but the transition from the Winter months can sometimes be a challenge. If you are struggling to find your groove this season, here are 4 tips that can help to put the spring back into your step…
1. Embrace the daylight
With the daylight hours increasing, it’s a brilliant time to soak up the natural light, bringing an array of health benefits too. Enjoying daylight has a profound effect on hormone regulation which supports many processes within your body, such as improving the quality of your sleep and enhancing mood and energy. Therefore, try to factor time outside each day, at least 30 minutes if you can.
2. Movement
Doing some intentional exercise each day will not only increase your energy and create a sense of achievement, but it will also do wonders for the health of your spine and body. I always recommend gravitating towards an activity you enjoy, and if you can do it outside, it will factor in tip number 1 also.
3. Reconnect with others
If you have been hibernating over the Winter months and have found yourself to be less social, that’s perfectly ok. As humans, we too have seasons, just like nature around us. But Spring can be a great time to reignite those social connections, and shared experiences with others can help support mental well-being. So, why not pick up the phone to call that person you’ve been meaning to contact, ask a friend out for a walk, or join a local group?
4. Learn something new
Embracing a new challenge can enhance many aspects of life and open new opportunities. Whether learning through reading, listening to a podcast, signing up for a class, or just giving something a go and seeing what happens, you may be surprised at the joy it can bring and how much you are capable of!
I hope this information helps you spring into Spring! Why not choose one thing and see how you get on?
With love,
Tom
