I Broke My Foot Now What?

Yes, I broke my foot. Only a stress fracture but a painful annoyance nonetheless.

6-8 weeks right? Rest and elevate?

Unlikely!

Resting a foot with a day job is impossible, and 6-8 weeks is too short.

It takes months for full healing to occur.

So what should I do?

Support bone health is the answer, and I thought I’d share these with you so you can implement them into your healthy routine.

My top 3 dos and don’ts for bone health:

DO

  1. Move regularly – walking, strength work, and balance exercises all help keep bones strong.
  2. Eat well – include calcium-rich foods, protein, and get enough vitamin D.
  3. Get sunlight daily – even 10–20 minutes supports vitamin D levels.

DON’T

  1. Sit for long periods – break up sitting every 30–60 minutes.
  2. Rely on supplements alone – they don’t replace good habits. Minimise sugars and glutens.
  3. Overdo alcohol or smoke – both weaken bone over time.

A simple reminder from an annoying injury, that I hope helps you today.

With love
