Another Trip Around the Sun

This week marks my Birthday and with that I wanted to share a blog and a simple reminder for you all to enjoy.

Life is funny right… so long, yet so short. Full of meaning, yet sometimes meaningless.

I used to be so engrossed in my own ego, what I wanted, how I wanted to live, that I rarely considered the impact on others and the long-term impact on me.

What have I come to realise?
There is a great Ghandi quote that says, “to find true happiness one must lose themselves in the service of others”.
Now I am an avid reader and learner, and I can not think of a better quote to live life by.

As I said, life can be so long, yet so short. But really it only seems short at the end, and why so? Because we think about all the things we could have done or did not do.

I also said that life has so much meaning yet feels so meaningless. Why so? When our lens is focused on ourselves, there is little meaning. When it is on others, there is so much meaning to all that you do.

So, my lament to you on my Birthday week is to consider, what actions are you taking today? How are you giving to others, and how are you taking care of yourself so that life can be long and meaningful.

This year you will have seen my contact time in the practice has reduced, this is so I can help more people. I do not have enough hands to serve as many people and change as many lives as I would like. But if I can help others to do this, together we can change the world. Over this year you will see Epoch grow to do just this. And I promise it will maintain its world class care and exceptional customer service in the process.

Epoch means a definitive period in the history of your life. Thank you for being part of the Epoch that will change the world, you being here and reading this matters so much more than you know.

With love,
Tom
