It’s been just over 8 weeks since our daughter arrived, and one thing has become very clear: breastfeeding is not easy. I am in awe once again as I watch Sarah and Fearne work together.
Watching Sarah nurse our daughter has been deeply humbling. The love, patience, and physical effort it takes is extraordinary. I’ve seen her sit for long periods, often in awkward postures, sometimes wincing as she shifts to find comfort. It’s a beautiful connection between mother and baby, but one that can really take a toll on the body.
And yet, it doesn’t have to be quite so hard.
I believe that chiropractic can offer new mums real, tangible support during this time. The physical act of breastfeeding places unique stress on the spine, shoulders, and neck. It’s easy to fall into positions that compress nerves, misalign vertebrae, and create lasting tension, especially as mums serve to put others first, often at their expense.
Through gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments, we can ease subluxations (misalignments in the spine) that add strain to an already tired body. These adjustments don’t just help posture, they help the nervous system function more efficiently, supporting better rest, digestion, and recovery.
For many mums, that can mean fewer aches, less tension, and more ease when holding, feeding, and bonding with their baby.
To any parent out there in the thick of it: I see you. It’s not always glamorous, and it’s certainly not easy. But you don’t have to do it all on your own, and your body deserves support too.
Do you know a young mother who could do with a little help? Have you tried chiropractic?
With love,
Tom
