Sheep and shepherds feature well in the stories at Christmas time, but do we really want to aspire to be like them?
What do I mean? Sheep as you know follow each other, they follow the crowd. And as the festive season starts it is easy to get caught up in the hysteria, which I am not saying is a bad thing…
The concern I have is for the lapse in our commitment to our health and wellbeing. As the nights are longer and the air is colder, out come the comfort foods and treats. Into the office come boxes and boxes of chocolates and when we get home, wine is accompanied by some more tasty treats.
Now just because everyone else is taking their foot off the gas and losing their health focus, you don’t have to!
I am writing this to be the little angel on one of your shoulders, telling you how well you have done this year and to stay focused.
I want to challenge you for the next 2 weeks (apart from any social engagements) to avoid the treats, stay strong. Choose the Reindeer’s carrots over Santa’s mince pies, and head into Christmas day feeling alive, healthy and energetic!
Who’s with me?
With love,
Dr Tom
