£55 New Patient Consultation (Usually £92)
So I guess most of you are opening this up on Wednesday, and right now as you read this I should have been on my way to Heathrow airport to catch my flight to Australia, as I had been invited to speak in Melbourne, at the Spinal Research Foundation’s annual conference.
But instead I will be taking it easy and having a relaxing day visiting my God Son in Buckinghamshire.
Why am I telling you this I hear you say?
Well as you know I do a lot of travel, speaking, and learning, as well as working with you at Epoch, and truth be told. I was doing too much.
This became apparent as my health began to slip a little and my body started telling me to stop and slow down. Now I know a lot of you may think this is rich, me pushing too hard, when I am telling you all the time to slow down and look after No.1.
However, I want to be open and honest with you, it happens to all of us, and it is our human nature to just push through and ignore what our body it trying to tell us. And honestly, I also needed the push from Sarah to say, “come on, don’t you think you’re doing too much?”
So here I am admitting that I was doing too much and saying that it took some level of pain and accountability to actually stop.
I wanted to let you know, that it is ok to push hard in your life at times, but it is equally, if not more important to listen to your body and know when to slow down. Take some time today to tune into you, how are you really feeling? Alert, alive and energised? Or lethargic, tired and short tempered?
What ever it is, sit with it, accept it and then ask yourself, why?
Is it time to take a break, to take a breath and prioritise you? Find that person in your life who will keep you accountable, like Sarah does for me.
Know that myself and all the Epoch team are here for you, and with your permission, we will keep you accountable and guide you to a healthier, happier life.
So, whatever you do today, do it with a smile, listen to you and sit back at the end of the day, knowing it was a day worth living!
With love,
Dr Tom
