There are probably 1 million different diets for you to try, and the same amount of supplements and juice plans you could do. I’m here to tell you it can be a lot more simple! To understand the importance of nutrition, I’m going to steal every mum’s saying “you are what you eat”, your body quite literally uses whatever we put into our body to rebuild our body, as well as energise us throughout the day. So, if you eat pizza or kebabs, you know you feel all groggy and bloated…compare that to when you’ve eaten some salad, vegetables or freshly made food, and after you feel absolutely fantastic.
My main piece of advice for those starting off with care, or starting their nutrition journey is quite simple: eat fresh, eat at consistent times, exercise and don’t over eat. Never eat until you are bloated, we’ve all been there and you feel like you can barely move, your body literally has to shut down everything to make energy to process what you’ve just eaten!
Eating fresh, organic if you can, vegetables and meat is going to work wonders for your body and leave you feeling fresh and ready too!
Human beings are creatures of habits, ensure you have a schedule that you stick to when eating, and ensure you have 3 meals a day, breakfast being the most important, it again is what it says on the tin, we are breaking our fast from sleeping, the first thing you put in your body in the morning determines how you start your day…will it be with vegetables, or eggs and greens? Or will it be with leftover pizza, or cereal with sugars? Guess which one’s we would choose?
As with any nutritional advice, you must also remember to move and exercise the body, exercise helps with digestion and also to ensure you are hungry and craving food at your next meal.
Nutrition can take you down so many pathways, but ultimately we know when something is good or bad for us, we all eat chocolate and treats, but let’s keep them as a treat and not an everyday occurrence! And as always, if you would like any more information, please ask the team!
Take care,
Lewis
