What’s Your Health Pattern?

We are all creatures of habit, and habits as you know can be good or bad. Finding a rhythm or a pattern can really help you on your health journey.

Now I know it is not easy to start a new habit or implement a new rhythm, but once done it can really serve you.

So, what do I mean?

Let’s take the end of the week

Let’s take the end of the week ‘Friday feeling’. Our healthy habits can begin to slip, followed by that Saturday tipple and Sunday puddings that accidentally role into Monday and maybe even Tuesday.
I can assure you, I have been there too. You may have every intention of not doing this and trying to keep the treats and indulgence for the weekend, but like our waistline sometimes it spreads.

So, what can you do? Change the pattern, it’s not that you are not trying, it’s just that you have been caught in the cycle so long that it is a natural habit for you to do the aforementioned.

So, I am going to challenge you to find a new rhythm for a healthy week. Examples that can help could be the rhythm and routine of a Friday night walk instead of the pub. Sunday could be family cooking sessions with games instead of puddings, and Monday, well Monday has got to have the pattern of exercise, walking or fresh healthy food.

I know this might sound simple but if you can plan and set the same healthy habit each week, your body will naturally fall into that rhythm and it will be normal to be ‘good’ and feel unnatural to binge or deviate, therefore reducing the likelihood of doing so.

But if that all sounds too complicated, why not set yourself some daily non-negotiables. These are healthy things you do, for you, every day no matter what. I’ve emailed you about this before but as a reminder this could be:

  • 4 pints of water every day
  • 10 minute walk every day
  • One salad every day
  • 5 minutes breath work every day

The nature of the non-negotiable is in the name. No matter what you choose or what happens, they must be done each day.

Health is your choice, and I am here to help you make it a priority.

With love

Tom
